This is my mood board where i have researh based on the 90s grunge.
I have included images of modern grunge style, materials, music band and clothing items which were popular guring that decade. Tartan was a popular
material that was worn during the 90s grunge theme. Ripped denim jeans, tartan shirts and leather biker would make a perfect 90s grunge outfit using dartk colours like jet black, ruby red and deep blue.
Here is a pocket i made inspired by 90's grunge made out of ripped denim and tartan.I think the ripped denim goes well with the grunge theme and the scruffy look.
This is my finished garment, I used a tartan skull to match my theme and i used safety pins to make the oversized tshirt look more grunge. I cut out the skull and used bonaweb to put the skull onto the tshirt. I then out the bottom half of the tshirt and put it back on together just using safty pins and added extra safety pins around the collar so it doesnt look to plain and boring
A mood board is a type of poster or can be a collage of photos.
A mood board can contain images, texts, colours, materials and samples that connect to the work.

1) upcycing is converting a useless product into something better, or can be changing something like a top by adding different materials or studs 2) cut into it, add materials, add buttons, stitch into it and add studs
3) so they have customised items that other shops wont have so more people will come to there shop
4) pop boutique, rockit and cow

punk fashion started in the 1970s a style that contained piercings, leather biker jackets, fingerless leather gloves, ripped jeans, drinking lots of alcohol and bad behaviour
Make do and mend fashion started during the second world war where women started mending and remaking old clothes and stuff they no longer needed into something that would be usefull like making a skirt out of there husbands old trousers
i prefer make do and mend as it sounds very intresting how theyd turn an old pair of trousers into a skirt or make something wonderful out of old curtains.

My
customised garment was inspired by 90s grunge. My outfit will be worn to a
party, my idea behind my garment came from 90s grunge and its quite punky.
I bought my
garment from Primark and used my own safety pins which I bought of eBay and
also used college fabric for the tartan skull at the back. It only cost me
£2.50 to buy the t-shirt and I bought 200 safety pins for £5.
I’m hilal,
I’m a fashion student from the Oldham College and my ambitions are to pass my
course at college and then go into further education University and study
fashion styling. My further ambitions are to be a fashion stylist and work with
a good magazine company and maybe be a stylist for a celebrity.
CLOTHES SHOW LIVE EVALUATION
My theme was
90s grunge, I up-cycled a tshirt I bought from primark. My garment matches my theme because i have used tartan and safety pins.
I made my garment out of a oversized tshirt and cut the sleeves off to give it a edgy, grungey look. And then i cut the bottom half of the tshirt and then used safety pins to but it back on, then i cut out a skull out of tartan metarial using a pen knife which was really tricky and then i used bondaweb to attach the skull onto the garment. And finally just to make it look more grunge i used safety pins around the neck to make it look like your wearing a necklace. The tricky
part of making this garment was cutting out the skull using a pen knife and
using bondaweb to stick the skull onto the tshirt. If i could change my garment id make the tartan skull a little bigger because it looks like its out of place and its just been stuck on the middle of a plain tshirt for no reason and add more safety pins around the neck.
